Hi, I’m Sara Deacon.

I thrive when I’m connecting with others. I love talking to large groups of people about something awesome. Especially from stage. Where many others might fear public speaking, it’s nowhere to be found on my own list of top fears.

Hand me the microphone, and you can relax.

I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I graduated from Boston University with an English major and went on to achieve a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing.

This was in the early 2000’s when having a fancy degree was supposed to get you a lifelong career doing something related to said degree. Except it didn’t.

I worked retail and moved to northern Virginia, and worked more retail, and worked as an office administrator, and got married, and had kids and moved back to Wisconsin. I worked as a handwriter, a childcare provider, a postpartum doula, a podcast host, a camp counselor, a martial arts instructor and a life, parenting and “adulting” coach.

Yes, my work history is… eclectic. And it all has contributed to me becoming a powerful connector and creative consultant in my current iteration as a powerful 360° Emcee and speaker.

My family includes myself, my husband and three sons. Four of us are advanced degree black belts.

I love networking. I love writing. I love making art.

I love dancing and singing, though I don’t do either of those things exceptionally well.

In 2022, I stepped into this current role as MC and speaker. My people skills and performance abilities were a natural fit, and I love holding space for big and small audiences to connect and grow together.

I’m open, flexible, intelligent, kind and energetic.

I’m able to do many things very well.

Except play the guitar. I still kinda suck at playing guitar.

My favorite food is sushi.

I love my wavy/curly hair.

Most people can win me over with puns and dad jokes.

What else do you want to know?

What People are Saying…

“Sara’s the kind of person who lights up the room the moment she steps in – think creativity with a capital ‘C’, a bundle of positive energy, and fun that just doesn’t quit. She’s got this superpower of tuning in to every word you say, making you feel like the only person in the room, even when she’s wrangling a crowd of hundreds.”
— Wendy Babcock, International & TEDx Speaker
“Sara is engaging and professional. She was great with changes of plans during the day and kept everyone’s spirits high.”
— Jessica Bilski, The Calendar Whisperer
“Sara was engaging and entertaining, she helped to make the event a success. She knew the information on all the speakers and made the transitions from topics seamless. She was a natural on the stage and I look forward to seeing more from her!!!”
— Jennifer Anderson, Professional Wing Woman
“I’ve heard Sara speak virtually, and she delivers actionable content with humor in a way that is SO relatable. Then I attended a live event where Sara was the emcee, and she absolutely knocked my socks off!

It’s one thing to keep the pace moving smoothly while also entertaining (which Sara did) but she took it up a notch. There were many speakers, and after every single one, she took some nugget in their speech, highlighted it, and used it to create audience engagement in between speakers. Sara is AMAZING and whether you need a speaker or an emcee, you will not be disappointed!”
